Current framework officially supports python 2.x . Zbigniew Chamski (ZB: ) is leading the effort to provide support for python 3.x to take benefit of latest features or get performance benefits and native string unicode support.

Current progress:

• ZC: seems like the static part of the migration (applying the 2to3 fixers) is done.
• ZC: most dynamic parts are now working
• ZC: 2D graph is working

GF: if conversion will work fine, we will need to provide a transparent support for python 3.x for all plugins where python 2.x is not working natively on Python 3.x ... I can check it out at some point ...
